Port Security: One in 20 Containers Inspected
President Bush and his allies in Congress have failed to secure America's ports and only inspect one of every twenty containers entering our country. Americans United For Change calls for 100 percent container inspection. There are also no standards for seals and "customs approved" seals can be ordered off the Internet by anyone anywhere in the world. Flimsy seals are used to "secure" containers. These types of seals can be cut by a pair of children's scissors.

Real Medicare RX Now
The Bush Part D is a special interest law, written by and for the drug and insurance companies, that prohibits Medicare from negotiating for the lowest possible drug prices for seniors. This plan is costly, complicated, corrupt and denies seniors the choice of a prescription drug benefit directly from Medicare. Part D must be fixed now to put seniors first, not drug and insurance companies.

Protect Social Security: Stop Privatization
Bush and his allies in Congress intend to put privatizing and dismantling Social Security ahead of every other national priority next year including healthcare, education, prescription drug costs and increasing the minimum wage.
